Which one should you use?
WhatsApp's own messaging limits let a brand-new, unverified Business API number send up to 250 messages a day, provided every recipient has given opt-in consent to be contacted — a sign that WhatsApp doesn't treat modest volumes as inherently abusive.
Watobot is a good fit well within that range: personal reminders, small teams, and low-volume automations, comfortably under it. Keep in mind Watobot runs on your personal WhatsApp account, which WhatsApp evaluates using its own spam-detection systems rather than a published quota
If you decide to go with - hey I will be sending less than 250 messages a day anyway - remember that you whatsapp number is also used for regular personal messaging & that activity counts toward the 250 messages quota, so use your own judgment on top of any number here.
Practically speaking, if you're consistently sending higher volumes — say, 100+ messages a day for your business — that's exactly what the official WhatsApp Business API is built for. Worth registering for it instead. If your message count is less than 50 a day, Watobot should be safe to use. But remember that if you send to 20 people & 10 of them report the message as spam, your number will be restricted. So not just the number, the quality of your reachout matters as well.

Does Watobot give me a new WhatsApp number? expand_more
No. Watobot uses your existing WhatsApp account to send messages. You scan a QR code to link your account — exactly like WhatsApp Web. Messages appear as coming from your own number.
Can Watobot read my WhatsApp messages? expand_more
No. Watobot currently only sends messages on your behalf. It does not read, store, or process any incoming messages from your WhatsApp account.
Can my WhatsApp account get blocked for using Watobot? expand_more
Watobot works like a device added to your WhatsApp Linked Devices — the same way WhatsApp Web works. It sends messages as you, from your number, and WhatsApp sees it as one of your trusted devices.
To keep your account safe, every connection is routed through a dedicated residential IP address near your actual location. WhatsApp sees a local device rather than a shared server, and since every user gets their own IP, your account is never associated with other users.
Your WhatsApp session is encrypted with AES-256 using your personal auth token. Nobody — including the server owner — can access your session. Your token lives only in your browser and is never stored on the server.
As long as you send messages responsibly (avoid bulk blasting or spam), your account should remain in good standing.
What happens if I lose my login link? expand_more
You can request a new login link with the same email. This generates a new auth token — your previous token is invalidated. Because your data was encrypted with the old token, you will need to re-link your WhatsApp account. Your old schedules will be cleared.
Can I send to WhatsApp groups? expand_more
Yes. When setting up a schedule or sending a message, the recipient picker loads all your WhatsApp groups alongside individual contacts. Select any group and messages will be delivered to it.
Do I need to keep my browser open for scheduled messages to send? expand_more
No. Schedules run as server-side cron jobs. Once you set one up, it fires on the server at the right time — your browser and phone do not need to be open.
